#BoysDanceToo
Dance has always been one of my greatest passions, but when I was growing up I didn’t have a lot of male dancer role models to look up to. This was before the days of social media, and I had so many questions that I couldn’t find answers to. What could a dance career for a male look like? What paths could I take to get to the professional world? Being able to hear from a professional male dancer would have made such a big difference, and would have also helped me realize I wasn’t alone.
That’s why I’ve started my #BoysDanceToo series. I want to celebrate the careers of male dancers and help them share their stories and inspire others, including the young boys out there who dream of someday stepping onto the professional stage. That being said, I think that anyone who is fascinated by the dance world will love hearing the stories that these fellas have to share.

Life is all about creating your own path and Roberto Campanella knows about that. Originally from Rome, Roberto had a successful dance career joining his first company, Compagnia Italiana di Danza Contemporanea, at the age of 17. He eventually leaped to Toronto to dance for The National Ballet of Canada, where he began choreographing. Since then, Roberto has had a stellar career in teaching, choreographing, and directing. One of his most notable credits was choreographing the Academy Award-winning film The Shape of Water.
Logan Savard is in the final stages of achieving his dream to become a professional dancer. Originally from Comox on Vancouver Island, BC, the 18-year-old has been training full-time at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB) School since he was 16. He’s now in Level 7, the highest level in the Academic program at the RWB School.

Sterling was named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch”, and was a soloist with American Ballet Theatre before moving to Pennsylvania Ballet as principal dancer. Read about Sterling’s meteoric rise to the top of the ballet ranks, and enjoy some of his fun personal info as well.
When Jacob Williams was a kid, he loved singing and dancing around the house to his mom’s disco music. It was clear that he found his passion for performing and dance early in life – and this passion would eventually lead him on a journey of training and self-discovery before finding his place at BalletBC in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
