26th Annual Honda Celebration of Light is ready to shine

The first of three fireworks presentations kicks off tonight at English Bay and will conclude with a Disney finale on Saturday, July 30.

Get ready to light up the night with the 26th annual Honda Celebration of Light at English Bay. This exciting display of fireworks set to music kicks off the first of its three performances tonight and will continue on Wednesday, July 27, before concluding in spectacular Disney-fashion on Saturday, July 30.

Not only is this a fabulous way to enjoy the summer and celebrate Pride week in Vancouver, but this is also an exciting competition among different countries. Tonight’s event is being presented by the Netherlands. Australia will compete on Wednesday July 27, and the United States will conclude the competition on Saturday, July 30. The United States’ presentation has been orchestrated by Disney and promises to be truly magical.

So come on down to English Bay on any or all of the three nights and be prepared to be blown away by one of Vancouver’s favourite annual traditions. The fireworks commence each night at 10 p.m. rain or shine, and the area gets pretty packed by 8:30 p.m., so come early if you can. 

And while you’re watching the fireworks, don’t forget to tune into 104.3 FM or download the Honda Celebration of Light app to listen to the accompanying music, just in case you’re too far away to hear the tunes clearly.
