When my alarm goes off in the morning (to Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams”), I usually curse, roll over and languish in sorrow. Why did I watch that extra episode of Riverdale last night? Was that Davey Wavey YouTube marathon really worth it? And contrary to what my #IWokeUpLikeThis and #Flawless Insta pics and Snaps may proclaim, I’m a monster when I wake up. Luckily, I have the CTV Morning Live team to gently wake me up each morning when I turn on my TV. So then – you can only imagine the thrill I got last Friday when I got to meet the team in person!

Thanks to amazing producer Melanie Booth, I had the pleasure of touring the CTV Morning Live set, witnessing the behind-the-scenes action and meeting some fabulously talented individuals.

First of all, the entire on-screen morning team of Keri Adams, Jason Pires, Market Driesschen and Kimberly Wynn are incredibly nice and down-to-earth. And so are the whole behind-the-scenes team. It was fascinating to see how well-run and slick everything is – especially so early in the morning. The man behind the action is the awesome producer, James Nopper.

It was so amazing meeting the CTV Morning Live anchor team. From left to right: Marke Driessechen, Keri Adams, myself, Jason Pires and Kimberly Wynn.

One of the highlights of the show was watching acclaimed chef Ned Bell serve up gourmet avocado and toast. It had so many delicious ingredients in it, including shrimp, chickpeas and tomatoes! Ned is the Ocean Wise Executive Chef at the Vancouver Aquarium and it was such a pleasure to meet him and be treated to some of his amazing creations.

Side note - you know when you watch a cooking segment on TV, and the host takes two bites and you wonder what happens to the rest of the food? As you’ve probably guessed, once the cameras stop rolling, the entire studio dives in – obviously.

Catch CTV Morning Live each morning Monday-Friday. You can also watch highlights on the show’s website.
