After an exceptionally snowy winter, spring was in the air last month when Pride at Work hosted its Vancouver LGBT Networking Social Presented by TD. This lively networking event was a sophisticated affair held at the Shangri-la Hotel Vancouver.

Not only was this a great opportunity for LGBTQ professionals and their allies to network, but it was also part of Pride At Work’s national rollout of LGBT 101: E-Learning, a new online training program aimed at fostering LGBT inclusion in the workplace. Attendees were also treated to inspiring speeches from Colin Druhan, Executive Director, Pride at Work, as well as Kelly Lam, Regional Vice President, TD Wealth - Financial Planning, and LGBT ally Jonathan Pumphrey, BC Regional Lead on Pride at Work Canada's Board of Directors.

“It was so great to welcome the spring season with so many folks from our network in Vancouver,” said Druhan. “I was happy to see so many people engage with the demo of our LGBT 101 online course, powered by Learnkit. We're hoping to reach a broader audience than ever before by offering access to this vital programming, regardless of one's location.”

It was an evening of lively conversation over cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres. Most importantly, it was a great opportunity to celebrate the progress we’ve made for LGBT inclusion in the workforce and to look forward to the many more accomplishments to come.

Through dialogue, education and thought leadership, Pride at Work Canada empowers employers to foster workplace cultures that recognize LGBT employees as an important part of a diverse and effective workforce. Since 2008 our benchmarking, training and consulting services have helped Canadian employers create safer, more inclusive spaces, realize the full potential of their staff teams and bring down barriers to employment for Canada’s LGBT community. Our learning, networking and community events happen across the country, celebrate the most inclusive Canadian employers and provide the opportunity for LGBT professionals and their allies to connect.  – Pride At Work
