Happy fall/winter greetings!

I’ve had a really busy few months, with my new job and rehearsing for 02 Dance Company’s Answers. Let me tell you about Answers – it’s an amazing contemporary dance show choreographed by the incredible Sarah Dolan and I hope you can come see it. Answers is playing November 7-9 at the Theatre Junction Grand and it’s a beautiful show that showcases stunning dancers as well as a captivating and compelling storyline.

I’m just so honoured to be a part of this experience. I grew up with a lot of the older dancers involved with the show and it's been so wonderful reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. Every step of this experience has been exciting – from the audition, through to the rehearsals, fundraising, silent auction and this week…moving into the theatre and performing for audiences.

Our show is title Answers because it asks a lot of questions that many of us ask ourselves throughout our lives. What will I be when I grow up? Am I the only one who feels this way? Where did the time go? Am I happy? Do I follow my heart or my head?

O2 Dance Company’s last show was Grounds, which was presented in the summer of 2012. Back then, I was an audience member and I had two very prevalent questions in my life at that point. The first one was will I get a job? I had just finished university and after investing so many years of hard work and money, I knew deep down it was worth it…but I wanted to see a concrete answer – in the form of a job.

The second question I asked myself, was would I ever be able to dance and perform at the same calibre as O2 Dance Company again. I used to dance a lot growing up and in my early adulthood…but then I basically quit to focus on school and to get work experience. Watching O2 Dance Company perform Grounds last year made me realize how much I missed dance and how I still have a passion for it…and if I could even just do one last show, I could walk away with closure and a final feeling of accomplishment.

Just over a year later, I have my answers. I now have my dream job and I’m fortunate enough to be part of O2 Dance Company and our upcoming production of Answers! EVERYONE in this show is an exceptionally talented artist and and our choreographer Sarah Dolan is brilliant. I'm so honoured to be surrounded by such magnificent inspiration. I’ve found my answers. I had a blast at the World Petroleum Council Youth Conference!

I had a blast participating in my company's annual United Way campaign. This year, our campaign was titled "Piece by Piece" because we're all pieces of the puzzle :)
